Characteristics of Living Organisms

Levels Of Organization

Let's play: Put in order of complexity the following images

Cell Structure

Imagen
In science we divide between Eukaryotes and Prokaryotes cells, the major difference is given by the lack of nucleus and mitochondrias of the prokaryotic cell.

Cell Structure and Organelles

Domain: Domains can be Eukarya or Prokaryote depending on their cell type. Kingdoms: In the Eukarya domain we have: Fungi Kingdom, Plantae Kingdom, Protista Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom.  In the Prokariote domain we have: Prokaryote Kingdom, wich includes Bacteria and Archaea

Movement in and out of cells

DIFFUSION: Is the net movement of moleculles and ions from a region of their higher concentration to a region of their lower concetration, dorn a CONCENTRATION GRADIENT, as a result of their random movement. OSMOSIS: the diffusion of water molecules from a region of higher water potential (dilute solution) to a region of lower water potential (concentrated solution), through a partially permeable membrane. ACTIVE TRANSPORT: the movement of molecules and ions in or out of a cell through the cell membrane against a concentration gradient, using energy from respiration.
